Wolong 51 context hydraulic continuity 01Lake is surrounded by 3 reservoirs: Santaizi (1060ha), Huagu (460ha), and Sidaohao (700ha). The first ones are located on the West side of Wolong Lake, and are connected to each other, Sidaohao being upstream of Huagu. Then, Sidaohao is connected to the West Malian River. Wolong Lake is surrounded by 3 reservoirs: Santaizi (1060ha), Huagu (460ha), and Sidaohao (700ha). The first ones are located on the West side of Wolong Lake, and are connected to each other, Sidaohao being upstream of Huagu. Then, Sidaohao is connected to the West Malian River. Regarding other hydraulic infrastructures, the wetlands located on the west side of the lake (Yuejiabao, Nanilawobao and Sunjiabao), as well as the Old Liao Channel, are separated from the lake by valves.

The future “leisure” lake on the east side will be separated from the Wolong Lake by another sluice: it will help keeping the same water level over the year in this secondary lake.

Once the L Shaped embankment separating the South zone from the North zone will be built, two manual valves will be included in the structure. Another automatic one, making the separation with a channel arriving from the South East, will be set up too. This channel is connected to Santaizi reservoir. These 3 South gates will help managing the flow stage and the water supply in the South part.
