Filtering Garden
Wetland buffer zone construction
In the North-east bank of Wolong Lake, the buffer wetland (60 ha) is close to existing reed-planted filters. It allows draining 20000m3 of waste waters from Kangping urban station every day to a downstream outlet without polluting the lake. The wetland buffer is composed of two large basins. The first is a decantation one. The second is an aeration basin, planted with lotus. The two basins are separated by a manual valve. A pump station sends water from the first basin to existing reed-planted filters before discharging into the second basin. As a result, the water after treatment in reed-planted filters can reach the quality level 3.
